Hip Anatomy & Movement for Yoga

Join me for a lecture on yoga anatomy and alignment focusing on your hip joints.

The body is fascinating and works as a whole, but you must learn continuously about the parts to achieve the whole picture.

Whether you are a yoga teacher, just beginning in your practice or have been practicing for years, this is a great way to enhance your practice and understand your body better.

Lines of Energy for Yoga

Learn more about the directions of lines or opposite rays of energy in your body to 1) enhance your practice, 2) be more connected to your body.

Mini Yoga Flows

I love practicing yoga asana, the physical practice of yoga. I love filming, editing and producing short films.

Here are my two passions combined.

backbends.jpg

Backbends weren't always my favorite. I had a natural connection with arm balances and postures that I can muscle and charge my way into. Backbends and other postures that require more flexibility need more preparation and longer warm-up holds in order to get into them deeper and safer.

Join me for this flow, or watch to get more ideas in warming up for your backbend practice. The final transition is dolphin dog float to forearm stand to forearm wheel to forearm stand back to dolphin dog. Full circle, just like this practice.

Under the sun

Have I ever mentioned that I love arm balances? It is part of what got me hooked on the practice of yoga. When I get lost in an arm balance floating flow, something connects inside me: I am truly flowing and connected to the present moment.

This is the longer edited version. The real flow was 5 minutes long. This was shorted to a little over 2 minutes.

King hanuman grounded flow

It’s not always handstands and arm balances. It’s not always sun shiney days. Simply – life is not always bright and bubbly, although on IG it often appears to be. I tend to close into myself when I get down. I think I close off so that I do not spread negativity. I also have always had trouble asking for help, always wanting to be independent and take care of things myself. I’ve had people even consider me selfish because I handle darkness this way. If you are going through darkness, it is okay to handle it your way. Allow space for those people who understand that, and let go of the need to hold space for those that don’t. Allow yourself to feel the darkness, but not get swept up in it. If it wasn’t for the darkness of the rain clouds, the light of the sun wouldn’t feel so good.
